Acceptable Use

This policy is part of our Terms of Service and applies to Elmo Cloud and our websites.

Restricted purposes

When you use Elmo Cloud, you agree that you will not:

  • Collect or extract information or data from accounts that do not belong to you.
  • Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Services, including rate limits, plan limits, and authentication.
  • Trick, defraud, or mislead us or other users — including making false reports or impersonating someone else.
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any covert data-collection mechanism.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place an undue burden on the Services or the networks they depend on.
  • Harass, intimidate, or threaten other users, or anyone who works on Elmo.
  • Use the Services in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation, or the terms of a third-party service that Elmo reaches on your behalf.
  • Track a brand, individual, or organization in order to harass, defame, or stalk them. Elmo is for understanding how AI answers describe brands and markets, not for surveilling people.
  • Submit prompts containing personal data, credentials, or confidential information belonging to someone else. Prompts are sent to third-party AI and search providers; see Subprocessors.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Elmo Cloud's measurements as a competing AI-visibility service.

Accounts found to be in violation are subject to suspension or cancellation without prior notice.

A note on the first of those, since Elmo is an open-source project: none of this restricts what you may do with the source code, which is MIT-licensed. It restricts what you may do with the service we operate.

How we handle reports

We review reports at our discretion. Depending on what we find, we may take no action, warn the account owner, remove content, suspend the account, or terminate it, and we may notify the appropriate authorities.

Reporting abuse

Email abuse@elmohq.com with as much detail as you can: the account or content in question, what it's doing, and how you came across it. Screenshots and URLs help.
